Dearest and Beloved Ellie, I listened to both sermons today.  And I want to start by saying “I love YOU!”  After a painful year, you lead with legacy and love for your people in the true spirit of a Rav who radiates God’s love and our tradition’s beauty.  I am so proud of you and thankful for your words and wisdom.   You are amazing!!  In a year where so many of our colleagues brought their personal Israel pain to the bimah as their primary message, you brought your people’s needs front and center, KOL HAKAVOD!!   I could hear the message under the words of the sermon. When the chaggim are over, let’s talk.  There is much to share.   We are finally going back to LA for a few weeks on Monday and then back here to Virginia in November for a few weeks before returning, God-willing, to LA for Thanksgiving through the end of May.  We are looking forward to having you in our happy place in July, but I would love to connect, even via Zoom, long before that.  There is so much to catch up on. How blessed your congregants are to have you as their rabbi.  How blessed I am to have you in my life, inspiring me to believe there is a generation of great rabbis coming from the tree we planted.  Kiss Denise for me. Feel my hug for both of you,Amy
