How are you going to mark this significant day? Today is the birthday of the birth control pill. In an article describing the pill’s history, I learned a lot of useful things. It seems like an appropriate way to mark the pill’s birthday.
You might remember this post. It is interesting to think about the role of birth control on women in the third world or the potential for birth control in the third world (and I’m not referring to HIV prevention though that has a place, too).
There are problems with the birth control pill, of course. It is not 100% effective. There are potential health risks about the hormones in the pill for a women’s health later in life. The pill should only be taken when prescribed by a physician.
Happy birthday to the pill!
